This is significant in AC applications as "Apparent Power" (Volt-Amperes) can be easily calculated using Voltage multiplied by Current.     The footprint or package assigned to the virtual component is only valid for the symbol that is placed upon the schematic. It is possible, however, to assign a footprint or a package to your virtual components so that they can be transferred to a full PCB design.

    Therefore, the component does not have a natural footprint or a package. This is because virtual components are modeled theoretically rather than as a real device that can be purchased. In Multisim, virtual components and few real components do not automatically have a footprint or a package associated with them.
