What you are doing is setting up a “dummy account.” Remove the kids speaker from the family household in the main Google Home app. What has to happen, and this was one hell of a lengthy process (like literally, find yourself at least half a day to do this), you MUST create a mail account for all your kids do not make them a restricted kids account. I believe this has to do with it being a “childrens account.” What seems to be the issue is that Spotify or Google casting devises, do not allow for a Spotify Kids account (which is a sub account within the family premium membership on Spotify). Ok so, although I was able to eventually find a work around, no… my question was not appropriately answered.
How has this not been addressed Google!? Seems the last post I can find on this topic was in 2021 and there was zero fix or work around for it. I am exhausted of my poor kids stopping my music and podcasts while I am driving but I am PAYING out the wazoo for their own accounts! I am paying a hefty monthly fee with Spotify to have a FAMILY account and I also purchased 2 minis and 4 Nests for my home, but my kids can’t listen to their own accounts!? Seems I have spent enough money with both companies that this should be plausible.
Obviously the 6 year old doesn’t have email accounts or other devises. I am sick and tired of my kids playing music on their home Nests, which each have in their bedrooms, and yanking me from MY Spotify account. I pay for a premium Spotify Family account, where mine is the “main” account but each of my children and husband have their own account, as “sub accounts” under mine. So I saw a lot of posts on this exact issue, but absolutely no resolution.
